Brian T. Gillon Brian T. Gillon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018. He was 51. He was born April 25, 1966 in Teaneck, N.J. to Ellen and Girard T. Gillon. Brian grew up in Ridgewood, N.J. before moving to Moorestown in 1980. He graduated from Moorestown High School in 1984 where he made lifelong friends. While there, he played basketball, a passion that he enjoyed for the rest of his life. Brian attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., graduating with a degree in Economics. After graduating, Brian studied Business at the Universite' de Strasbourg, France, before returning to the states where he earned his law degree from Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. Brian then began his professional career in New York practicing law as an associate in the healthcare group at Dewey Ballentine, LLP, and then as an investment banker with Smith, Barney, Inc. In 1996, he relocated to Fort Lauderdale to work for Pediatrix Medical Group, where he held multiple executive positions including head of business development and General Counsel, and played a key role in building that company into the nation's leading provider of neonatal physician services. In 2005, he co-founded Excelsis Healthcare, a predecessor company of Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist company. Over the last few years, Brian continued to work as a consultant on healthcare related projects. He is survived by his two daughters, who he adored, Bridget and Paige, and his former wife, Beth J. Gillon of Chapel Hill, N.C. In addition, Brian is survived by his mother, Ellen Gillon Kelly of Mount Laurel; his sister, Maureen Warren (Seth) of Westfield, Ind.; his brother, David Gillon of Islamorado, Fla.; his nephews, Hunter, Christian and Quinn Warren of Westfield, Ind.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Gerard T. Gillon. The family would like to thank all of those anonymous individuals that cared for and helped Brian over the years in his struggles. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, N.J. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main Street, Moorestown, N.J. Interment will be held privately. A memorial service in Ft. Lauderdale is also being planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1445 West Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, or to Sacred Heart School, 1739 Ferry Ave., Camden, NJ 08104.
